N-Dubz spark fan fury after cancelling gig FIVE minutes before show due to 'illness'

N-Dubz sparked fury tonight after cancelling a gig just five minutes before the band were due to be on stage tonight - despite fans having already waited hours inside the venue in Nottingham.

The performance was brought to a halt due to "artist illness" and gig-goers were forced to leave the venue despite watching the warm-up acts.

The last-minute U-turn is thought to be due to the ill-health of Dappy, who posted only hours before the show that he was "f***ed" and his "voice was basically gone".

Despite the post, attendees filled the Motorpoint Arena tonight, only to be turned away just minutes before N-Dubz were expected on stage.

One attendee told The Mirror: "The whole show got cancelled just five minutes before N-Dubz were supposed to be out on the stage."

The fuming gig-goer told us: "We stood there for three hours for nothing, Dappy had posted on his story hours ago about being unwell. We went out for no reason.

"We stood through the warm-up acts for absolutely no reason, bar Wes Nelson I'd never even heard of them."

Another angry fan Tweeted: "Ndubz in Nottingham tonight support acts been on and everything now the show has just been cancelled.

"They should have been on at 930ish. It got cancelled 20 mins ago."

Another said: Took day off, travelled 100 miles to Nottingham arena to see N-Dubz. Sat in my seat for two hours to be informed the show was cancelled 5 mins before performing."

A third penned on Facebook : "Never been so savaged in my life. Sat through two warm up acts. Been there since 6pm, Ndubz due to start at 9pm.

"9.15 comes and an announcement comes on the screen telling us it's cancelled due to illness. Dappy posted about having no voice hours ago.

"We sat there like absolute mugs while they had no intention of coming out. Motorpoint Arena absolutely shocking state of affairs yet again."

A statement from the band shared with The Mirror tonight explains that the show was cancelled on 'doctor's orders' after Dappy was 'unable to perform'.

It reads: "We’re so sorry we had to cancel the show tonight. We tried to do everything possible to make the show happen, but a doctor advised at the very last minute that Dappy was unable to perform and needed to rest tonight.

"We had to take this advice seriously and consider Dappy’s health so that the rest of the tour can happen, which has so far has been amazing.

"The O2 Arena show tomorrow (November 23) and the rest of the tour will still be going ahead. We will make a further statement after Dappy has seen the doctor again tomorrow morning.

"We’re deeply sorry to all the fans who travelled to see us tonight and promise to make it up to you with a new rescheduled date for the show. Dappy, Tulisa & Fazer."

Tonight, attendees were shown a projected message on the venue's screens just minutes before the band were set to perform on stage.

"We are very sorry to announce that due to artist illness, tonight's performance has been postponed and will be rescheduled," it read.

The sign adds: "We understand the frustration and inconvenience caused by this late announcement; however, it is just not possible for the artists to go ahead this evening.

"Full information will be available tomorrow via official channels."

"Arena full of people that have been there 3 hours just to be told to go home, ouch."

The Mirror has contacted Motorpoint Arena Nottingham for a comment.
