Mysuru: Weavers send memorandum to Central govt on flag code

MYSURU: The Khadi Nulugarara Balaga (Khadi Weaver’s team) of the city organised a Let’s Spin event on Sunday. Well-known theatre personality Prasanna Heggodu and activist Santosh Koulag participated.

The event started at 7.30am and concluded at 9.45 am. The idea behind the event was to help people living in the urban areas to know the shrama Samskruthi, volunteers said.

The activists also opposed the amendment to the flag code of India which allows machine-made materials for the flag on the occasion. A memorandum was sent to the central government on this.

The activists pointed out that this amendment will affect the livelihood of thousands of families besides bringing down the reputation of the Indian flag.

Theatre personality Prasanna Heggodu said this amendment will destroy the rural economy and the concept of Swarajya.

He stated that protests will be organised in Bengaluru, Dharwad and other places against this amendment.

Sachchidananda KJ and C Balachandranan and others also participated.
