Mysuru: Technical assistant trapped by Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths

MYSURU: Manjunath, a surveyor and technical assistant, attached to deputy director of land record court, deputy commissioner’s office, was caught red-handed while receiving a bribe from a complainant on Saturday.

Anti-Corruption Bureau superintendent of police VJ Sajeeth said Manjunath had allegedly demanded money from a Periyapatna resident, the complainant, to change land records.

The official had demanded Rs 35,000 from him following which he lodged a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Bureau on July 29.

The official was trapped near a Central government office on Bannur Road on Saturday.
