
The Gozoike, a pond typically scarce of water in Sasebo, Nagasaki, has been filled with rainwater due to intermittent rain in the area since late June, creating a mysterious spectacle that is captivating visitors
Gozodake Forest Park, the park where the pond is located, is known for its clusters of Chinese elm trees.
According to the Sasebo City Board of Education, the Gozoike has been dubbed an "apparitional pond," a pond that despite being surrounded by low-lying meadows, is known to collect rainwater during the rainy season. Visitors enjoyed taking pictures of green of the trees reflected on the water's surface at the base of the 15 meter-high trees.
