Mystery surrounds a "loud bang" which has been heard in some parts of Nottingham. Residents living near Arnold reported hearing the loud noise at around 7pm on Friday, July 15.
After someone posted on social media asking if anyone else had heard it, a lot of people commented to say that they had - and speculate as to what might have caused it. One person commented that it had "echoed off buildings" with another person saying they could hear it from Bestwood woods.
"We thought something had blown up?!! It was very loud," said one person.
Another wrote: "Sounded like a gun shot - birds just flew off the fileds behind us when it happened." One Facebook user said: "I'm in Carlton and my dogs have just gone bonkers at the bang! Thought it was a car along the park?"
