The cause of a massive woodland blaze is still a mystery as firefighters start a second day of action at the site.
Over 1,000 square feet of woodland was affected at Formby Pinewoods when the fire broke out on Easter Monday (April 22).
Crews were delayed getting to the site because of heavy Bank Holiday traffic in the area around 3pm.
Dramatic images and video footage taken yesterday showed smoke billowing off the charred ground and surrounding trees.
This morning fire crews were back at the site to 'dampen down' any hot spots at the fire site.
