Mystery surrounds Battersea murder of dad months after gangland shooting of pal's wife

A father was gunned down in front of his wife and child months after a friend's partner was shot in the head in Sweden.

On Christmas Eve, Flamur 'Alex' Beqiri was shot as many as ten times on his doorstep in Battersea, south London.

The 36-year-old, who is the brother of Real Housewives of Cheshire star Missé Beqiri, was peppered with bullets as his wife Deborah Krasniqi looked on in horror.

Mr Beqiri moved to the UK three years ago, but reports suggest Scotland Yard are working with Swedish police to investigate the slaughtering.

It comes after his friend Naief Adawi was the target of a shooting earlier this year in Malmo, where Mr Beqiri grew up after moving there from an Albanian community in Kosovo.

The 33-year-old, who was jailed for eight years for his role in one of the biggest robberies in Danish history back in 2008, was approached outside a falafel shop by gunmen.

Mr Adwai handed his two-month-old baby to his wife Karolin Hakim, a doctor, and ran.

Father and child escaped with their lives, but Karolin was fatally shot in the head.

The murder caused shockwaves in Sweden at the time and its perpetrators have yet to be found.

According to police sources referenced by Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet , Karolin's death may be linked to that of a teenager referred to as Jaffar in the nation's media.

The Syrian 15-year-old was gunned down in November this year after moving from his home country to Malmo in 2016.

He was killed by men riding on bicycles on a street known to be a hotbed of drug dealing.

Mr Beqiri himself was linked to a cannabis smuggling plot 12 years ago when police accused him of fleeing a bust in bare feet.

While the charges against him, which related to smuggling around 300kg of cannabis, were dropped, he was found guilty of illegally handling smuggled goods including cigarettes and alcohol.

Mr Beqiri's friendship with Mr Adwai is well documented, with the latter attending his luxury wedding in October 2018 on Lake Como.

His sister Missé, who was married to Manchester United player Anders Lindegaard, posted a video of his first dance with Mr Adwai seemingly in the background.

According to a source speaking to The Sun, Mr Beqiri moved to Britain in a bid to leave the troubled Swedish city behind.

The Albanian national moved to the UK to escape his life in Malmo, according to a source (Facebook)

"Alex came to Britain, fell in love with Debora and tried to put his life in Malmo behind him," they said.

After making the move and settling in a £1.5million Battersea home, Mr Beqiri began work at record label 20:20.

It is not clear if the label signed any artists and the website appears to no longer be working despite being active yesterday afternoon.

Mr Beqiri's marriage to Debora was widely reported in Albania media.

Locals in Battersea believe the couple have two young children, including a newborn baby, and claim they moved to the area last year and began extensive renovations.

Ms Krasniqi previously told the Grace Ormonde Wedding Style website: “There was always something special about our connection and bond.

“We could be many miles apart, and even though at that stage were only friends, we would spend endless hours over the phone.

“I became best friends with his sister over some time, and it was at her wedding where we actually fell deeply in love.”

Alex proposed after flying both their families out to Austria for a Christmas break.

He woke up at 5am and covered the chalet floor with 1,000 rose petals before waiting on one knee for her to come into the room.

The song Magic by Coldplay was playing - the song that would be used for their first wedding dance.
