Mystery Rangers star in heartwarming gesture as young super-fan gets special Christmas wish

A young Rangers fan is getting more than he could have dreamed of for Christmas after a member of the squad gifted him a signed jersey.

Twitter user @ArgyllWarrior reached out online to ask fellow football fans where they could find a cheap kids Light Blues shirt for Christmas.

And they say they were "blown away" by the positive responses from replying supporters eager to help him out - including those from rivals Celtic.

They said: "Yesterday I tweeted about trying to find a cheap Rangers top for my lad for Christmas. I deleted the tweet as felt a bit embarrassed, but was blown away by all the kindness not only offered by @RangersFC fans but @CelticFC fans also.

"Thank u to everyone out there, Im blown away"

And the appeal seemingly even reached Ibrox - and one first team player was apparently happy to go the extra mile.

The identity of the player in question is being kept secret for now but will be revealed on Christmas Day when Santa eventually arrives.

It serves as a heartwarming tale of the power of football but another Christmas gift for the young supporter could be victory at home to Motherwell on Saturday.

Steven Gerrard's men will go 16 points clear in the Scottish Premiership should they defeat the Steelmen, with Celtic on Scottish Cup Final duty the following day.
