Mystery paint splatter strikes again after second attack on Bishopbriggs homes in just weeks

A family home has been targeted by a phantom vandal for the second time in just three weeks.

The vandal splattered white paint over the house in Bishopbriggs, near Glasgow, in the early hours yesterday then scarpered.

Shocked neighbours in the Ashfield area woke to find the front door, one window and part of the front-facing wall covered in paint in the targeted attack.

The sleepy residential area is no stranger to overnight vandalism.

A hooded thug struck on May 21 at about 1.50am when two properties were splattered with paint.

At the time one local told the Record: “A fellow came around with his hood up at 1.50am on Tuesday.

“He was seen because a few of the neighbours had CCTV installed after the incidents with the cars.

“We found the tins of paint and buckets nearby. He was seen pouring the paint into buckets.

“The police are hopefully going to be able to trace him by going to the shops where the paint was bought.”

Since January, three cars have been vandalised in the same street.

Police probing yesterday’s incident have not linked the spate of mindless attacks. They said: “An investigation is underway after a report of vandalism in the early hours of Tuesday, June 11.”

“Inquiries are ongoing.”
