Mystery of the two-foot drum left behind on a Lothian Buses vehicle this week

Many of us have been guilty at one time or another of leaving something behind on the bus.

Maybe a pair of sunglasses, an umbrella perhaps.

But this week Lothian Buses revealed that something slightly more unusual has been handed into their lost property – a two-foot drum.

The operator took to social media this morning to issue an appeal for the owner of the instrument to step forward and claim their prized possession. They admitted that this was likely the "biggest thing" left behind on their buses this week.

A short time later the floodgates opened and the drum related puns started flooding in.

Lisa Miller told them that "they don't need to bang on about it" before Scott Watson tweeted: "You might get a few people trying to claim ownership of this. Just hope your staff tell them to beat it."

What a way to drum up some excitement on a Friday morning.
