Mystery of man walking down Bristol street with musical shed on his head that blasts fire out of the chimney

Imagine a man with a miniature wooden shed on his head with disco lights under the eaves and fire blasting out of the chimney in time to the music the little shed is playing as its wearer walks down the street.

Imagine no more, because it’s here, it’s been filmed in real life and it’s in Bristol because this is what happens in Bristol now.

The bizarre video (scroll down to watch in full) was filmed by a stunned Edward Jenkins, 35, while out for a walk with his wife Poppy in St Werburghs, Bristol.

“I've just moved into the fabulous St Werburghs community in Bristol and my wife and I took an evening stroll around the area.

“Hearing the distinctive music we stumbled across 'shed head' walking down the street and I whipped out my camera.

“He was being chased by a few people but by the time they came round the corner he had disappeared!” he added.

Quite why there was a man with a miniature wooden shed on his head with disco lights under the eaves and fire blasting out of the chimney in time to the music the shed is also blasting out remained a mystery to passers-by who stopped to watch with a mixture of fear, apprehension, bafflement, confusion, delight and admiration.

Three questions remained for all those who saw it.

Megabus driver cracks joke about Bristol on coach from London to Cardiff

Firstly, why was there a man with a miniature wooden shed on his head with disco lights under the eaves and fire blasting out of the chimney in time to the music walking past the St Werburgh’s City Farm?

And secondly, is describing it as a shed doing this creation a disservice? Is it really a miniature house?

Artemis Bear got a close look and said it was a ‘perfect miniature wooden house’.

The 39-year-old was sitting outside enjoying the warm evening when she also witnessed the scene on Monday evening.

“This was quite an incredible sight,” she said.

“My partner and I were sat on the bench outside our house near St Werburghs City Farm and they turned to me saying 'did you see that?'

“I replied that I hadn’t and they said that a person had walked past with a house on their head. I ran around the corner and couldn’t believe my eyes.

"This person was casually strolling around with a perfect miniature wooden house on their head, which was blasting out dubstep, and then, as if that wasn’t enough, actual fire came out of the chimney!” she added.

"I ran past the couple and asked them if they got a pic but they did even better and got a video,” she said.

The third question was one of public safety.

The video shows the man walking underneath overhanging trees at the exact moment the music's hook triggers the flames.

Does he realise he could spark some kind of forest fire?

Meet Michael Shedworth, 'Sheds need love too'- meet Michael Shedworth the man with the fire-blasting disco shed on his head

Research by Bristol Live has revealed a possible, albeit speculative reason as to why there was a man with a perfect miniature wooden house on their head with disco lights under the eaves and fire blasting out in time to the music it was playing.

The tune the perfect miniature wooden house was playing was a 2014 track called Mr Brown by KOAN Sound, a Bristol based electronic music duo.

That duo, Will Weeks and Jim Bastow, released their debut album just before Christmas, called Polychrome, and are about to embark on the summer season of festivals and events.

Could it be that this is a new stage prop for KOAN Sound’s shows? Or is it just a coincidence that this was the track that happened to be playing when the fire disco shed head man was captured on camera?

Bristol Live contacted KOAN Sound’s management, and the band said the shed head man was nothing to do with them, describing it as 'completely organic'.
