Mystery man who died after being hit by several cars on M1 sparks appeal

An e-fit of a man who died after being hit by several cars on the M1 has been released in a bid to identify him.

Officers released the image on Monday, May 4 after previous attempts to identify him were unsuccessful.

He was killed on November 29, 2019, on the northbound carriageway of the M1 at junction 18 for Crick in Northamptonshire.

He was trying to cross the road at the junction when he was hit by the vehicles. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives from Northamptonshire Police's serious collision investigation unit said despite inquiries, including circulating his DNA and fingerprints internationally, his identity is "unknown".

The man is described as in his late teens to early 20s, about 5ft 1in, with black hair and brown eyes.

He has a wispy growth of facial hair, and what looks to be 'an old piercing' in his left ear lobe.

He also has two faint linear scars, about 1.5cm and 3cm long, on the back of his lower left arm.

At the time of his death, he was wearing a black, long-sleeved top marked with the words 'The Urban Club, Bronx', a black and grey jumper and black jeans.

He had a European plug phone charger, some Euros and a Samsung mobile phone with an Orange France sim card in his possession when he died.

Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555111.
