A mystery man from Bristol has won a staggering £1m lottery prize by matching five main numbers plus the bonus ball last month.
The draw on Wednesday, September 29, saw a winner from the city - known only as Mr R, scoop the prize after using a personal selection of numbers.
The lucky winner played a selection of birthday numbers via the National Lottery website and become one of over eight million players that win each week.

The winners all have the opportunity to release their name, remain anonymous or like this winner, release some details through partial publicity.
Camelot’s Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at The National Lottery, said, “Huge congratulations to Mr R for winning this fantastic prize. He has become a millionaire overnight and can now look forward to a million exciting new plans.”

Picking personal numbers worked in the favour of Mr R, although some players prefer to use a lucky dip selection when choosing their ball numbers.
By playing any National Lottery game, players generate more than £30m each week for National Lottery-funded projects.
This money helps support everything from local charities to helping our nation’s athletes win medals at the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
To date over £43billion has been raised for National Lottery Good Causes, with more than 635,000 individual grants awarded.
Thanks to lottery players, over £1billion is being used by charities and organisations affected by the impact of the coronavirus outbreak, which includes over £600m in funding support from the National Lottery Community Fund - which is being used to support people and communities through the crisis.
