'Mystery' Liverpool player involved in brilliant random act of kindness

A ‘mystery’ Liverpool player has contributed with a random act of kindness, by making a very generous donation to a local city coffee shop.

The coronavirus lockdown has impacted many areas of society, with the UK government urging the public to stay at home.

People across the nation are stepping up to help their local communities, and one Reds player has played their part.

Fika, a Swedish coffee shop in Wavertree, posted on their Instagram account to reveal that an unnamed Liverpool player made a donation.

The Reds player, who they say wished to remain anonymous, purchased 200 care packages which will be given away to local members of the community.

“Thank you to the Mystery Liverpool Football Club player who wants to remain anonymous, for purchasing 200 Fika Boxes from us and have given them away to members of the Liverpool community in conjunction with the  @owenmcveighfoundationofficial.”

This comes after Jurgen Klopp’s wife, Ulla Sandrock, handed out £1,000 worth of food vouchers to supermarket staff at a Waitrose in Formby, as a "thank you" for working on the coronavirus frontline.

The ECHO understands 20 separate £50 vouchers for the store were individually passed by the  Liverpool manager's wife  to those on the shop floor at the time.
