Mystery hero dressed up as Deadpool visits young boy hit by car near Glasgow

Move aside Batman! A new superhero has been spotted just outside of Glasgow.

Folk in Blantyre had to do a double take when they saw Marvel star Deadpool roaming the streets - kitted out in the full lycra.

The comedic costumed vigilante, played by Ryan Reynolds in the 2016 blockbuster, was seen stoating about Glenfruin Road and Stonefield Road, as well as a bus stop in Hamilton.

But this isn’t a case of yet another film shoot - apparently a mysterious local has been leading a double life. By day his identity remains underwraps and by night he become 'Deddypool’ and takes to the streets clad in a skintight black and red costume, armed with faux dual-wielding pistols to fight crime and put a smile on the faces of sick kids.

The Daily Record reported that on Tuesday he was spotted strolling the streets on the way to pay a surprise visit to Blantyre youngster Alex Law who was knocked-down by a car on Stonefield Road last Friday.

The seven-year-old suffered a fractured skull, swelling of the brain and numerous cuts and bruises in the accident, and had only just been allowed home the day before the superhero paid him a visit.

Alex's mum Carriann Kirkland told Lanarkshire Live : "This guy is marvellous.

"My wee boy got knocked down on Friday and yesterday was not a good day he was extremely sore and Deddypool made a visit to Alex simply to put smile on his wee face.

"What a lovely thing to do."

The mystery man regularly visits the homes of people who are sick in a bid to cheer them up and often appears at charity and community events across Hamilton.

And while the true identity of the masked crusader remains unknown, he has a social media page where encourages people to ask him for photographs if they spy him, adding there is "no need to be shy".

It is understood he can't drive, so if often spotted pounding the pavements on the way to his visits.

Surely Batman can chauffeur him in the Batmobile next time?
