Question: If you were floating around in a boat and were close enough to capture this image of this mystery bird species, where in the world would you be?

Response: This is an adult African fish eagle, Haliaeetus vocifer. This species is identified on the basis of its white head and tail and its black bill and yellow cere.

As the common name implies, if you were a very lost photographer and you captured this mystery bird image, you would know that you are located on a body of freshwater somewhere south of the Sahara Desert on continental Africa.

You are invited to review all of the daily mystery birds by going to their dedicated graphic index page.

If you have bird images, video or mp3 files that you'd like to share with a large and (mostly) appreciative audience, feel free to email them to me for consideration.
