A woman's body has been found on a Scots beach sparking a police investigation.
Cops are probing the death after a passer-by made the grim discovery yesterday morning.
The alarm was raised at around 9.45am sparking a large emergency response at Inverkip Beach in Inverclyde.
The identity of the woman remains unknown at this time.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.45am on Monday, 10 August, 2020, the body of a woman was found at Inverkip Beach.
“Enquiries are ongoing to identify the woman.
"A post mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death which police are not treating as suspicious at this time.
“A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
