Mystery as up to 300 dead birds fall out of the sky with organs spewing out

Hundreds of birds were found dead on a road in Wales with their internal organs spewing out.

Witnesses say a massive flock of starlings were spotted flying overhead before landing and eating something on a road near Llyn Llywenan, Bodedern. An hour later they were dead, North Wales Live reports.

Footage of the apocalyptic scene was taken by Dafydd Edwards, whose wife, Hannah, had seen the birds on her way home on Tuesday.

After hearing about the odd scene, Mr Edwards went out to see for himself as he “didn’t believe her”. He said: "There's easily more than 300 of them.

"I counted 150 last night but I gave up as there's just hundreds of them littered everywhere.

"It's as if they just dropped down dead from the sky.

"I didn't believe her so I went to see for myself."

Hannah said she noticed the birds flying overhead and thought they looked amazing, so was stunned to find them all dead after returning from a doctors appointment.

Mr Edwards filmed the scene on his mobile in which he walks among the birds to try and figure out what has happened.

In it, he claims “the stench is awful” as he looks into hedges - where there are also dead birds - and over into the fields, where there are none.

He added: "It's very strange, I can't put my finger on it.

"There are still some alive in the hedges today but it's all unexplained at the moment."

Mr Edwards got in touch with North Wales Rural Crime Team and the Animal and Plant Health Agency in the hope that they can shed some light on to how the birds died.
