Mystery as toddler found wandering alone in street sparking search for parents

A toddler was found wandering alone in a Texas street on Sunday morning.

The young boy was reportedly discovered by a good Samaritan, according to ABC news .

Police have notified local child protective services and are now looking for the boy's parents.

However, no description or picture of the child has been released yet.

Last week, a 'teen' who claimed to be the missing Timmothy Pitzen was found wandering on the street in Newport, Kentucky.

Timmothy Pitzen: Former convict who claimed to be missing boy is charged

He claimed he had escaped from two 'bodybuild-type' men from a Red Roof motel.

He was later confirmed by police to be a 23-year-old convict Brian Michael Rini.

His claim was debunked last night after DNA test results conducted at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital confirmed he was not Timmothy Pitzen.

Rini was released from the Belmont Correctional Institution on March 7 where he had been serving 14 months for burglary and vandalism, according to public records.

"False reports like this can be painful to the families of missing children and also divert law enforcement resources in order to investigate these untruthful claims," said Herb Stapleton, the acting special agent in charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Cincinnati.

Rini has been charged with lying to federal agents and making false statements.
