Mystery as person wearing full Freddy Krueger mask spotted acting 'suspiciously'

Residents have expressed their concern after spotting a person wearing a full Freddy Krueger mask 'acting suspiciously'.

Police said two separate reports have been made about the mysterious character in Tameside.

The person is said to have been wearing a terrifying full face mask in the style of Freddy Krueger from the film A Nightmare on Elm Street.

The person was spotted first at around 11.50pm on Tuesday evening on Sunningdale Road in Denton.

They were then spotted again on Clough End Road in Mottram at around 7.14pm last night (Thursday).

Officers said 'no criminal offences are apparent at this stage' but that they 'appreciate the concern of residents'.

"We're keeping an open mind as to any links to crime, anti-social behaviour - or of course otherwise innocent explanation", a post written by Inspector Derbyshire on the GMP Tameside page added.

Residents are being urged to get in touch if they spot the person again.

Any related incidents or information should be reported to 101, via the live chat, online at https://crowd.in/hk8Fur or anonymously via https://crowd.in/05lKY2 online or 0800 555 111..
