Mystery as bright beam of light seen in Nottinghamshire sky

A bright beam of light, likened to the ‘Bat signal’, has been photographed over the night sky in Nottinghamshire.

The spectacle is said to have been visible from around the Upper Saxondale, Tollerton and Saxondale areas at around 6pm Thursday evening (November 4).

The beam was pictured by one witness from a roundabout between Saxondale and Bingham at around 6pm.

The eyewitness, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “There was a massive beam of light near Langar on my way back on Cropwell Road.”

Another member of the public who saw the light added: “I had to pull over on Hardigate Road on my drive back from Bingham at around 6:15pm.

“The light was so bright - it looked like a huge beam towards the sky. It was something like the ‘Bat signal’. I had never seen anything like it around here.”
