Mystery after body of 52-year-old town worker is found on Aberaeron beach

An appeal has been launched after the body of a 52-year-old man was found on a Welsh beach.

The discovery was made at Aberaeron’s North Beach in Ceredigion on Friday.

The man’s identity has been confirmed as 52-year-old Clive Roberts, from the village of Llanwnnen, some 12 miles south of where his body was found.

Police are appealing for information regarding his death, which they are currently treating as unexplained.

They said Mr Roberts was working in Aberaeron on the day he died.

Clive Roberts (Dyfed-Powys Police)

“We know Mr Roberts was working on the morning of December 13, but his exact movements are unclear,” said detective inspector Richard Yelland of Dyfed-Powys Police.

“He was wearing orange high visibility trousers and a yellow high visibility jacket while conducting his work in Aberaeron town. If you saw Clive that morning, please call us or speak with a local officer.

“Our thoughts are firmly with Mr Roberts’ family, as we try to piece together the circumstances surrounding his death.”

Anyone with any information that could assist officers with their enquiries is asked to contact Dyfed-Powys Police by calling 101.

The coroner for Ceredigion has been informed of the death.
