A 'mysterious movie Santa' is on a mission to spread festive cheer around the south side of the city - by deliberately leaving DVDs in the park for people to pick up.
Yesterday morning a local spotted two DVDs left on a bench in Queen's Park; Matilda and the Jim Carrey flick Fun With Dick And Jane.
Niall Murphy, chair of Glasgow City Heritage Trust, tweeted: "I still occasionally spot random charitable gestures while out on my perambulations.
"This one on Monday, with someone deliberately leaving DVDs on a park bench in Glasgow's Queen’s Park, made me laugh = thanks to whomever cheered up my morning."
A local responding to the tweet suggested that it's not the first time the 'mysterious movie Santa' has performed the fabulous gesture, and has in fact been leaving DVDs all over Shawlands for years.
And they must be good at their job/hobby, as to date no one has identified them!
What a great idea. Long may it continue!
