Mysterious 'Kirsty from Scotland' sends cute note reuniting student with lost ID

A hero holidaymaker from Scotland reunited a student with his ID he lost over 1,200 miles away from home.

Dan Knight had jetted off to Magaluf for a holiday with friends on June 13 but once he returned home, he noticed he had lost his provisional driving licence.

However, it wasn't long until the ID ended up back in the 21-year-old's hands again after a kind stranger had found it and sent it back.

Included with the licence was a letter where 'Kirsty from Scotland' explained that she found Dan's driving licence outside a hotel in a popular holiday resort.

However, she was soon told he wasn't staying there and then she tried and failed to find him on social media.

As the Record reports, the letter read: "Hello, I found this outside the Martinique Hotel in Magaluf on Tuesday. I checked with the hotel and you weren't staying there. Checked social media but couldn't find you.

"So I brought it home to Scotland to send on to you when I got home on Wednesday. I hope this finds you. Kirsty."

Dan said she was the 'soundest girl' (Dan Knight)

A gobsmacked Dan is now desperate to find mystery holidaymaker Kirsty, whom he has dubbed "the soundest girl in the world", but has had no luck so far.

He told the Record: "I returned home and it arrived a few days later. I couldn't stop grinning when I read it. It was sent with a first-class stamp as well! It's such a nice gesture.

"No one knows who she is and I'm desperate to say thank you properly. Kirsty, wherever you are, you are the soundest girl in the world."

Dan posted about the sweet gesture on Twitter, and his tweet has received over 14,000 likes. He added: "These days you never expect someone to go out of their way to do something for a stranger. It has restored my faith in humanity."
