Mysterious four-toed footprints appear over driver's car after a frosty night

A driver has been left baffled after finding a trail of four-toed footprints on her car after a frosty night

Alicia Smith from Scartho, Grimsby, found six mysterious prints over the windshield and roof of her vehicle on Thursday morning.

They are only a few inches long and as they appear to have just four toes it has sparked speculation on what might have made them.

Alicia and her partner were stunned when they saw them before sharing images of the bizarre prints in the hope that someone can solve the mystery, Grimsby Live reports.

She said: "We'd never seen anything like this before, it was very odd," she said.

"They're a strange shape and only have four toes, and don't quite look human. I'm not sure if it was a child.

"And why would someone be barefoot in this weather?

"The car was parked outside our house all night so whatever did it must have been just outside. We didn't hear or see anything.

"It was 10.30am when we came out and spotted the footprints.

"We had no idea what made them, and wanted to see if anyone else had seen anything similar. We really want to hear people's suggestions on what they might be."

The trail starts near the corner of the driver's door, and progress up the windscreen. They then go across the roof and disappear.

Whatever made them must have had cold feet judging by the layer of frost coating the car.

There's no trace of a fifth toe on either of the feet, although the maker might have been walking awkwardly due the temperature.
