A man has recorded video of a strange, fast-moving light in the sky near his house, he said what appeared to be an orb of fire changed direction horizontally and vertically as he watched.
Dan Pengelly was left baffled after he spotted the bizarre object in the night sky from his home overlooking the sea in Seaton in East Devon.
Quick-thinking Dan whipped out his phone and started to record the unidentified object, capturing footage of what looks like an orange point of light moving across the night sky.
Dan was enjoying a cup of tea at his open patio door at around 7pm when he was shocked to see a “big, round light” floating in the sky, Cornwall Live reports.
He claims the object, which appeared much bigger to the naked eye, moved “faster than any satellite” and changed direction in a way that defied physics.
“It looked like it was on fire,” Dan said, “But there’s no way it was a meteor or anything. It changed direction, horizontally in front of me then changed direction again out to see.

“I was just hypnotised, staring at it wondering, what the hell.
“Then I went to get my phone, which took me about 20 seconds,” and by the time I got it out I could only get three small lots of footage.
“I thought: ‘that’s some sort of weird bloody spacecraft.’”
Dan said it appeared much larger to the naked eye than his video and images look.
He also explained that the floating object moved around “very quickly,” much more so than any boat, plane or satellite.

“I couldn’t get my head around it,” he continued, “It just looked like the bloody sun. It was huge.
“Whatever it was, could have better technology, might have been in space going the speed of light. I wouldn’t bother it.
“Never seen anything like it in my life.”
Photos taken of the orb show it to be orange, slightly distorted-looking, and video footage taken by Dan shows it looking to be moving across the sky.
Asked if he’d ever seen what he thought to be a UFO before, Dan said: “There was one thing, actually, about 27 years ago, it was around here too- with my mate in a field.
“It was winter, there was definitely a spacecraft.
“I’ll admit we did have a smoke, and I said ‘Ollie look at that’. Went up and down, doing a triangle. Then it just went woosh away.”
Dan said he felt sympathy for people who spot these sightings because they often get mocked on social media. However, he insisted that people who leave such comments would change their mind if they saw something like what he did.
