Mysteries of the World: Ancient Treasures by Richard Hammond - review

Richard Hammond, Richard Hammond

The rich purple and gold colours, plus the ancient Egyptian Mummy on the front cover, already got me interested in what was in this book (keep in mind I love classical history!)

It is written by Total Wipeout presenter, Richard Hammond, so I had to prepare myself for some terrible jokes! I think he is a good presenter for this book because he is willing to travel pretty much anywhere and he travels to all the important places in the book.

There are 4 mysteries and there are "FOUR BURNING QUESTIONS" in each mystery. At the end, you get to decide for yourself which is true and which is false. The 4 mysteries are: Pirate Treasure, The Curse of The Pharaohs, The Legend of El Dorado and The Crystal Skull Conundrum.

There are 2 sections at the end of the book: Decision Time and Want to Know More? In Decision Time, he gives you answers and you can decide for yourself what you think is true and what is false.

I recommend this book to ANYONE who likes interesting facts and classical history! Even if you like neither, it is still a great book because it has a slightly Indiana Jones feel as he goes around the world hunting ancient treasures!
