MyPillow boss Mike Lindell loses big time as jury orders him to pay millions to Dominion Voting Systems director

MyPillow boss Mike Lindell isn’t having a great day. For years, the pillow magnate has been on a one-man crusade to prove the 2020 election was rigged. He somehow still believes this to be true, despite the complete lack of evidence and multiple court rulings. Now, Lindell has been served a cold dose of reality in the form of a $2.3 million payout.

Yesterday a Denver jury ordered Lindell to pay damages to Eric Coomer, the former safety and product strategy director at Dominion Voting Systems. Dominion has long been a target of conservative hate, with multiple outlets accusing the company of stealing the election.

They’ve been striking back against these allegations in court and winning, most prominently in 2023 when Fox News settled for an eye-watering $787.5 million. Lindell can once again join the club as, after a two-week trial, the jury found his claims to be baseless lies.

Coomer’s case was filed in 2022, claiming that Lindell (and his companies) had “irreparably tarnished” his reputation. He also claimed the conspiracy theories had endangered his life and that he “now endures frequent credible death threats and the burden of being made the face of an imagined criminal conspiracy of unprecedented scope in American history”. As you might imagine, he feels vindicated, telling the Colorado Sun he’s “thrilled”.

Is he broke?

But Lindell doesn’t seem in a hurry to open his wallet anytime soon. And, even if he did, he’s claiming moths will fly out of like some old-timey cartoon. He claims his legal battles have left him “in financial debt”, but has vowed to appeal. As for who’ll be paying for that? Well, step up the never-ending supply of his gullible customers, who he’s urging to donate to his “legal defense fund”.

But even this humiliation pales in comparison to Lindell’s antics in 2021. He launched a “Prove Mike Wrong” competition, offering $5 million to anyone who could prove his 2020 presidential election data was wrong. Bob Zeldman promptly did just that, with Lindell eventually being ordered to pay up by a private arbitration panel. Womp womp.

Mike, buddy, if you need money fast, I’m sure there must be some money in hiring yourself out as a Paul Bearer lookalike for pro wrestling events! Just get some tall burly guy with an intense aura to play the Undertaker, buy a mysterious urn to carry about, and the dollars will roll right in!
