When Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes got his record setting contract, he made a wise decision to take some of that cash and become a part-owner of the Kansas City Royals. Evidently, Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Myles Jack was paying attention and taking notes from the league MVP and has decided to make a similar investment.
On Tuesday afternoon, Jack was announced as one of three notable athletes who joined the ownership team of the Jacksonville Icemen. Former Jags defensive end Reggie Hayward and Gators legend Tim Tebow were also announced as part owners for the ECHL franchise, which will be entering its fourth season in Jacksonville.

“Growing up I have been a part of progressive sports programs, but always from a players perspective,” Jack said in a statement Tuesday. “I now have the opportunity to have ownership in a great team here in Jacksonville. Looking forward to bringing my life experiences to the community and partnering with the Icemen players and staff.”
It’s certainly nice to see Jack planting roots in the city of Jacksonville while also opening doors for his future. The same applies for Tebow and Hayward, as well.
The Icemen, who are the affiliates of the Winnipeg Jets (NHL) and Manitoba Moose (AHL), will begin their season on Friday, Dec. 11 against the Florida Everblades. A say later they will have their season opener against the Grenville Swamp Rabbits of South Carolina.
