Myles Garrett, Odell Beckham Jr. make PFF’s Top 50 NFL players list

Two Cleveland Browns standouts have made Pro Football Focus’ list of the top 50 NFL players entering the 2019 season. Defensive end Myles Garrett and wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. are both prominent in the annual PFF list.

Garrett appears at No. 35 on the list. Citing his high ceiling with an already impressive body of work in his first two seasons, the notes on Garrett indicate that 35 might be the lowest we see of Garrett in the next few years,

No first- or second-year edge defender has a higher ceiling than Garrett right now. His two-year pass-rush grade (88.0) ranks eighth, and his 18.4% pass-rush win rate ranks seventh among the 56 NFL edge defenders with 600 or more pass-rush snaps since 2017.

Beckham checks in at No. 19 based on his Pro Bowl past with the New York Giants. Being traded to Cleveland and now paired with Baker Mayfield gives Beckham a chance to move up even higher,

Trading an aging Eli Manning for second-year Baker Mayfield in Cleveland, Beckham has a real shot at earning career-high marks across the board and jumping ahead some of the aforementioned wideouts in 2019.

Mayfield himself did not make the cut, but he and several other Browns have the potential to crash the PFF list in the next couple of years.
