Myles Garrett met with NFL on Monday about possible reinstatement

Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett has taken another step in his quest for reinstatement from his indefinite NFL suspension.

Garrett traveled to New York and met with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell on Monday, according to a report from Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com and verified by ESPN. No details of the meeting or timetable for any possible reinstatement have come forward yet.

Garrett received an indefinite suspension for striking Steelers QB Mason Rudolph over the head with his own helmet in a nationally televised game in November. He has been barred from team facilities and working with the Browns in any capacity. Garrett appealed the suspension to try and get a clearly defined end date, but that appeal was rejected by the NFL.

He can only be reinstated by the commissioner. Goodell previously stated he hoped to meet with Garrett before the Browns conduct their first offseason program work in early April. If he is reinstated, Garrett is eligible to participate in everything as a full member of the team.
