Myles Garrett lobbies for equal pay for female athletes

With that tweet in the wake of the USA Women’s national soccer team routing Thailand 13-0, Browns defensive end Myles Garrett thrust himself into one of the more heated debates in sports.

Garrett wants to see female athletes paid the same as their male counterparts.

It’s an ongoing issue in the sports world and one that gets spotlighted during major events. The current Women’s World Cup in France is a good example. It often rears its head in women’s tennis, too.

Garrett followed up the initial tweet with a thread explaining his position and his appreciation for female athletes. Here’s a screenshot capturing the rest of his initial thread:

Garrett continues to be his own man and isn’t shy about being someone who likes to think critically. And as the father of a 10-year-old daughter with serious athletic ambitions, I applaud his stance.
