Myles Garrett, Jarvis Landry among many NFL players leading ‘We Want to Play’ campaign

The NFLPA barraged social media with a coordinated effort to relay a simple message.

We want to play.

Browns star defensive end Myles Garrett was one of the first to Tweet out a message with the new hashtag. The movement quickly took off with over one hundred players taking to Twitter to offer their own reasons why they feel the NFL isn’t taking their safety seriously enough, in their opinions. Browns defensive teammates Larry Ogunjobi and Mack Wilson were among those chiming in as well.

If the NFL doesn’t do their part to keep players healthy there is no football in 2020. It’s that simple. #WeWantToPlay

Jarvis Landry, one of the team’s leaders, posted a more lengthy plea on his Instagram feed.

Browns center JC Tretter, the NFLPA’s president, offered this:

What you are seeing today is our guys standing up for each other and for the work their union leadership has done to keep everyone as safe as possible. The NFL needs to listen to our union and adopt the experts' recommendations #wewanttoplay
