Myles Garrett excited to play under new Browns DC Steve Wilks

Myles Garrett cut an imposing figure on the side of the podium among his three Browns offensive brethren at Monday’s press conference introducing new WR Odell Beckham Jr. The star defensive end only fielded a couple of questions as the panel was primarily focused on the young offensive standouts.

Garrett was asked about his first impression of new defensive coach Steve Wilks.

“I think he knows what he’s talking about,” Garrett responded. “I think he is going to put us all in a great position. I know he is fiery and he is passionate. I am not going to compare him to (former coach) Gregg (Williams) because they are two different sides of the spectrum, but I know he is amped up.

Wilks has quickly started incorporating his own wrinkles into the defense, something Garrett appreciates.

“We are already going through plays, schemes and things we are going to do, footwork and how practice is going to go in individual. He is ready to get on it. It was like we never stopped. We are picking up where we left off last year like he was the coach here. I’m really excited to play for him.”
