Myles Garrett doesn’t see the need for Gerald McCoy with the Browns

While some of his teammates have lobbied for the former Buccaneers defensive tackle to come to Cleveland, Myles Garrett isn’t someone who covets Gerald McCoy lining up next to him.

Garrett seemed cool to the idea when asked about the potential of McCoy, now a free agent after being dumped by the Buccaneers on Monday, joining with the Browns.

“What they decide to do, I’ll be OK with and I’ll accept it and move on, but I think we’re good with what we have,” Garrett said Tuesday via Scott Petrak of BrownsZone. “I’m always going to be passionate about the guys we have in the locker room because they’ve always been OK with me, they’ve always done right by me, so I have no problem playing with them, going out there and sweating, bleeding and winning with them.”

Odell Beckham Jr. and Damarious Randall both expressed desire for the Browns to sign McCoy in the immediate aftermath of his release. The 6-time Pro Bowler is one of the top available names on the market now. Garrett seems pretty excited about the curr3ent interior tandem of Larry Ogunjobi and Sheldon Richardson, another prized free agent this offseason.
