Myles Garrett continues to rough the passer too much

Former number one overall pick Myles Garrett has gotten off to a rough start this season. Literally rough. In just a game and half played, the Browns standout DE has accumulated three roughing the passer penalties and cost his team a total of 45 yards.

He had one roughing the passer penalty on Tennessee Titans starting quarterback Marcus Mariota. A penalty that cost him $10,527. Needless to say, he might owe the NFL a fine twice as much this week.

During the first half of the Monday Night Football game against the New York Jets. Garrett has tallied up two roughing the passer calls both on quarterback Trevor Siemian. His second roughing passer knocked Siemian out of the game with an ankle injury. Both of the penalties on Garrett were on third down and long. Giving the Jets two free first downs is not helping. Garrett needs to stop putting his defensive teammates in tougher situations.

Although Myles Garrett has racked up some flags for roughing the passer, he has also bagged a sack in each of his first two games this season thus far. He has four solo tackles on the season through six quarters and bagged another sack on the first play of the second half in New York.
