Myleene Klass reveals amazing new career move after saving daughters’ lives

Myleene Klass has revealed she is now a trained volunteer with St John Ambulance after twice stepping in to save her daughters from choking.

The broadcaster and musician, 46, shared the news on Instagram, posting a carousel of photos of herself in uniform alongside an ambulance.

“Check out my new office,” she wrote, adding: “Thank you for your countless messages of love and support. Im so proud to be a part of the @stjohn_ambulance family, serving my community officially and as ambassador."

Klass, who became an ambassador for the organisation last year, said she was “overwhelmed” by the support she’s received and admitted she hadn’t realised how intensive the training process would be.

The newly-trained frontline responder explained: “I don’t think anyone (myself included) realises how much work and study goes into it.

“Its easy to take the guys in green coats for granted thinking they just volunteer for events and sporting fixtures, but honestly, the practical and written exams, the A&E doctors training and testing you, the kit prep alone and the weekly top up reminder classes, whilst alot are also massively reassuring, and all actions are carried out with dignity to the patient as the priority at ALL times.”

“I can safely confirm, you and your loved ones are in the best of hands,” she assured her followers.

Klass also shared a tip with her followers — revealing that pop star Chappell Roan’s track Pink Pony Club is perfect for keeping rhythm during CPR chest compressions.

She added: “Oh, for the record, @chappellroan’s Pink pony club is perfect for timing CPR compressions. (As is Staying alive and baby shark, depending on your musical predilections).”

After sharing her update, she was inundated with messages of support from social media followers and her famous pals.

Davina McCall commented: “yessssss Myleene” alongside several clapping hands emojis.

“Wonderful you are a superstar,” Jools Oliver added. Model Penny Lancaster, who is also a Special Constable with the City of London Police, penned: “Great achievement”.

Earlier in the day, Klass posted a video of herself in training and revealed she was inspired to first learn first aid after previously saving her daughters from choking.

Celebrating passing her course, she wrote: “I look forward to getting more first aid out there. The thought that, in cardiac arrests outside of hospital, 80% of cases will require a loved one to perform CPR — how scary is that?!”

“You could be called on at any moment to save a life.

“I saved both my girls from choking one as a baby, one a tween, and it was absolutely terrifying. The only thing worse would have been not knowing what to do. This might be your sign to get first aid trained.”

St John Ambulance, a leading first aid charity, trains thousands of volunteers each year to respond to medical emergencies across the UK — from local events to crisis support during national health emergencies.
