Myleene Klass reflects on the pressure of women ‘having it all’

Myleene Klass has used her personal experience of multiple pregnancy losses to campaign tirelessly for changes for medical intervention for women after every miscarriage

The musician and broadcaster, who features on The Independent’s Influence List this International Women’s Day, has been a prominent advocate for change. Her campaigning helped secure reforms so that women in England no longer have to experience three miscarriages before receiving specialist support, prompting the Government to announce new women’s health measures.

The 47-year-old has spoken about the importance of asking for help and “finding what your village looks like”, after decades in which women have been told they can “have it all”.

“It’s important to acknowledge that actually we got it wrong and we can’t have it all because the only thing that gives, is us and our sanity and our mental and physical wellbeing,” she says.
