Myleene Klass' fiance hailed a 'hero' after having a vasectomy to give her body a rest

Myleene Klass has praised her fiancé Simon Motson after he undwerwent a vasectomy. The musician and TV presenter says her man had the surgical procedure to prevent any further pregnancies to 'give her a body a rest' after going through four heartbreaking miscarriages.

The couple, who have a three-year-old son Apollo, tragically lost four children before welcoming their 'rainbow baby' in 2019. Myleene, who shot to fame with the band Hear'Say in 2001, detailed the toll this took on her.

Myleene, 44, said she cried as her partner, 47, went in for the reversible surgical procedure as she shared a video of her man hobbling but smiling as he left the clinic. "My stories have blown up so putting this here for the menfolk to see that it’s empowering not emasculating to do this for your partner and we respect you all the more for it," she typed on her Instagram.

"The drugs I took to keep our son after losing four babies and the toll it took on my body followed by further birth control, it’s such a lot. It can’t all be on the woman. In Sim’s words, ‘You’ve done your bit’ now it’s my turn.'"

She continued: "Before he went in, I cried as it felt ‘final’ (it’s actually reversible) and then I felt admiration and like I’m in a real, grown up partnership. Love and respect him so much. Not all hero’s wear capes. Some wear a dressing and really tight pants for two days."

She wrote in a caption over the video clip: "I put my body through so much to get our son and stay pregnant. The drugs play havoc with you even the birth control ones, so now I get to give me body a rest."

Former Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley commented: "Legend!!!" buffyh_losinglbsandlife told her: "My husband did this for me after I nearly died during childbirth having my youngest. He didn’t want to chance ever losing me xx I adore him for this xx"

And annieemarriee wrote: "Looooooooove this. I wish more men would offer rather than wait and watch their female significant other go through the struggles first but I digress! He's one in 100million! I want one!"

Myleene, who opened up about her trauma in Myleene Klass: Miscarriage and Me, is also mother to two daughters, Ava, 15, and Hero, 11, with ex-husband Graham Quinn. Last month to mark Baby Loss Awareness Week, she shared a picture of herself sharing a hug with her son along with a moving and heartfelt message.

"On the day that marks the start of Baby Loss Awareness Week, I get one last hug from my son before I leave for the Baftas," she wrote. My documentary Myleene Klass: Miscarriage and Me has been nominated and in Ava’s words, win or lose, we won.

"Apollo is our rainbow baby. Four babies have gone before him. In the time I have been campaigning for better miscarriage care for women and their families, I discovered something called Microchimerism. In short, the cells of every baby you carry are transferred into your own body and for those who go on to have their rainbow baby, into them as well.

"When I hug my son, I hug them all. Each day, I literally carry my lost babies in my heart. In my body. They never leave you. I get a huge amount of peace knowing this."

She added: "I promise to continue my work campaigning for better miscarriage care for women and their families. To break the 3 miscarriage rule, the lack of data, the lottery postcode and absence of aftercare.

"I stand with @tommys @oliviablake_mp and all the people continuing to affect change for those who need it or will come to need it. In breaking the last taboo, may we one day all awake from the nightmare of babyloss and miscarriage, until then, we continue to call for change, holding our babies in our hearts till we can hold them again in our arms."
