Mykhailo Mudryk breaks silence on laser pen incident during Chelsea's defeat to Arsenal

Mykhailo Mudryk has provided his response to the incident that took place during Arsenal vs Chelsea which saw a green laser pen shone in his face. The Blues winger was on the verge of joining the Gunners in January before Chelsea swooped in and signed the 22-year-old in a major transfer hijack.

Frank Lampard named Mudryk on the bench for the London derby clash but he was introduced with just under 20 minutes to play. Fellow winter window arrival Noni Madueke had pulled one back for the visitors at Emirates Stadium, but Mudryk could not repeat his team-mates achievement, instead enduring a relatively quiet cameo.

A mazy run beyond Ben White was some cause for optimism, but many also noticed a green laser reflecting of his face when heading towards goal. The Ukrainian international then continues to have the laser shined on him as he heads back toward the halfway line with Arsenal taking a goal kick.

In the hours following the clash, Mudryk has since provided his response to the incident. Posting an Instagram story where the laser can clearly be seen on his face, Mudryk added the caption "it's ok" *two hands that make a heart emoji*.

Since arriving at Stamford Bridge in an £88million deal, Mudryk has struggled for consistent game time appearing for just 506 Premier League minutes with only five starts coming his way. In that time he has grabbed two assists but is yet to find his first goal in a Chelsea shirt.

The expected arrival of Mauricio Pochettino as the next Blues manager could significantly help Mudryk as the former Tottenham boss is known for developing young players.
