Shoppers could be returning to Hunter department stores sooner than initially anticipated, with news of Myer reopening further stores.
The Newcastle Herald understands that Myer will trial the opening of a further nine stores from this Friday, including Charlestown, with customer and employee safety a top priority.
This would be in addition to seven trial stores that have already opened in NSW.
Online shopping facilities will remain open for those who cannot make it to a store.
While the store doors could open, some services may be off the table for the moment, including beauty appointments, intimate apparel fittings, suit fittings, and shoe fittings.
