Myanmar head of state to see PM

Myanmar President U Win Myint will meet Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha for talks at Government House Thursday.

The president is making his first official visit abroad since assuming office in March.

During his stay President Win Myint will attend the 8th Ayeyawady – Chao Phraya – Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS) Summit from Friday to Saturday.

"The leaders are expected to discuss cooperation on topics discussed with the previous president to see how things will proceed. However, it is up to the Myanmar whether to bring up cooperation on the Dawei project for discussion," according to Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak.
