A man has received a huge backlash after getting a memorial tattoo for his dead dog but not his son who tragically died at just six-weeks. He took to Reddit to explain how his Chocolate Labrador, Bear, passed away at nearly 15-years-old, and some of the ashes for his cremation were used in the ink for his tat.
The inking was of a grizzly bear on his shoulder, after the name of his dog. However, his wife was less than impressed with his ink and has always been upset over it.
He explained: "When I showed her the final work and told her about using my dog's ashes she lost it and has been telling me I am the biggest asshole in the world."

The grief they felt was compounded four years ago as well after the couple tragically lost their six-week-old son to SIDS, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
Since the terrible loss, the couple have struggled to reconnect and have nearly lost their marriage as the unimaginable grief has been too much to bare.
"With the help of therapy and couple's counseling we pulled through and are actually expecting our second in 4 months," he stated.
However, the memorial tattoo for the dog has reopened old wounds and has seen the wife demand he remove it, or get a similar one for their son.
"My wife keeps going back and forth between wanting to divorce me, make me get the bear tattoo removed or demanding I also get a tattoo for our late son," he continued.
So far the husband has refused to get the second tattoo or remove the first which has left the couple divided.
The post has received a mixed response, with one Redditor saying: "I’m sure there are happy memories of the short 6 weeks his son lived but he did not get the chance to live a full and happy life. A tattoo of his son would be a painful reminder of the memories he doesn't have where the tattoo for the dog is a comforting one of the memories he does."
However, another disagreed, stating: "In his own post he couldn’t spare a single word about how his son’s death affected him. I think there’s a lot to unpack here that’s been left unsaid."
