A cost-saving mum who wanted to spruce up her rented home has transformed it into a tribute to some of her favourite TV shows including Friends and Rugrats
Natasha McBrinn, from Ormskirk, West Lancashire, lives by a "more is more" mantra and describes herself as a "maximalist."
The 30-year-old, who is obsessed with bright colours and bold patterns, decided to give the property she rents a new lease of life - but she was bound by a strict budget.
She said: "I’ve always loved colour. I’ve always loved contrasting it with monochrome or black in particular."
Natasha, who shares photos of her amazing designs on her Instagram account, @prettypocketprojects, says a few people haven't been quite as enthusiastic as she is about the makeover.

“I’ve had quite a few bad reactions - a lot of people say the house would give them a headache or that it’s something from Big Breakfast or Mr Blobby’s house but it always makes me laugh.
“Especially because I’ve suffered with migraines most of my life and the house never causes them!”

However, according to Natasha, most people are in awe of her house, saying she's often approached by strangers who say she's inspired them to inject more colour into their homes.
She's designed her kitchen to echo the Nineties, taking inspiration from TV shows like Friends and Saved By The Bell. Painting the kitchen by hand, Natasha also put vinyl over the worktops and tiles.
Most of the wooden furniture in her house has been upcycled, buying a few pieces from eBay and Ikea.
“The coffee table in my living room was £5 and the sideboard was £10 both from eBay,” she explained.

Overall, Natasha spent £200 transforming her bedroom, which has a unique and vibrant 'drip' effect wall.
She completed the look using tester paint pots, cheap spray paint and vinyl, spending £40 on a wardrobe and £10 on a chest of drawers.
Natasha even went the extra mile and made her own bed out of wooden pallets she was given for free.
Although her upcycling skills are to be envied, it's Natasha's murals that have caught the most attention.
She said: “The huge one in my bedroom took me weeks to do as I painted it during pregnancy whilst suffering from hyperemesis.

“The kitchen one I did after work each night so probably took me about two weeks to finish.”
Natasha has jazzed up the toilet floor with vinyl that she cut into strips, and she used individual pieces of tape to update the kitchen floor.
Her teenager's bedroom cost £300 to revamp, while the nursery cost a little more at £500 - for which she decided to buy everytihng brand new.

She said: “I am a proper maximalist and feel like more is more. I also love to have an exceptional amount of items all around my house.
“Every single item has a purpose, is sentimental and has its own place - I can recall where every single pop vinyl is in every room from memory!
“I basically transformed every room other than the living room with a hand painted mural.
“This was super cheap and effective as it was all done with tester pots and designed and painted by myself.”
