Art always inspires me and paintings by Francesco Clemente, Anh Duong and François-Marie Banier, as well as photography by Chuck Close, Mario Testino and Bettina Rheims were all on display at my Journey of a Dress exhibition at the Pace Gallery in BeijingPhotograph: Diane von FurstenbergWatching a young man perform martial arts – spectacular! This exhibition captures the essence of who I am as a woman and a designer. It features my first wrap dress from 1974 and the dress that I wore on the cover of Newsweek later that same year. Michelle Obama wore an updated version of this same dress for her family Christmas card last year. Good style never goes out of fashion!
