Italian food is usually a safe bet when it comes to home cooking, with lasagna, pizza and bolognese firm favourites in many households.
But one woman’s take on spaghetti and meatballs didn’t exactly get the seal of approval on Facebook group Rate My Plate .
The ‘Blackbean Spaghetti and Spicy Meatballs’ sent in by ‘Tracey H’ attracted nearly 6,000 comments - and people certainly didn’t ‘rate her plate’ favourably.
Rather than use traditional spaghetti, Tracey had opted for a ‘blackbean’ variety, which looked like "rubber bands" according to some critics.
Rate My Plate user Steve Shrimpton didn’t mince his words. He said: “Nice..sloppy cowpat on ringworms. I think that is the most inedible plate of food I've seen on here...which is quite an accolade!!”
Suzana Bain said: “Wow… this is the perfect ‘theme’ meal for Halloween right?’.
While Billy Hughes said: “My dog made this on the lawn yesterday.”
And Jean Carrick Reilly added: “I love my food but my stomach heaved at the sight of this....if you were going for the shock factor you certainly got it.”
