A woman has received backlash from her parents after telling her sister if she is too broke to come on the family trip, she should stay home. The woman, 30, took to Reddit to explain that she is the youngest of three daughters and her eldest sister, 40, is always bringing up how broke she is.
In the post she explained: "She and her husband both make enough money to live comfortably and they are always taking trips and buying new vehicles, etc." However, each year all the families do a big trip together and rent a big house so they can all stay together. The woman stated: "We split the cost per couple. And every year, my sis gives the same sob story about how she and her family just can’t afford to go this year."

But, according to the post, the sister does this in order to get the money from her parents for the trip as the parents would never want to leave her out.
This year, the sister has felt her sisters should cover the cost of the trip.
"My middle sis and I both are very successful as are both of our husbands, so because of that, she thinks we should pay more for our rooms as to cover the cost of hers…which includes her husband and two kids," stated the woman.
However, in response, the woman has had enough of this and decided to speak up.
"I just finally had enough of it and told her to stay home then if she couldn’t afford it. We shouldn’t have to cover her expenses because we make more money and she chooses to spend her money on other things. If the family vacation was a priority then she should save for it," she explained.
Her sister was less than impressed with this and her parents have felt it was quite harsh and actually covered the cost of the sister's family for the trip anyway.
Many have been quick to support the author of the post with one Redditor saying: "She’s clearly using you and your other sister for money. If this happens every year, she should’ve saved up for it instead of blowing money on unnecessary expenses and then crying to mommy and daddy for them to cover it."
While another said: "Sounds like if she’s blowing their money on new cars and just having a fancy life style that they don’t know a good cost for their vacation and plan accordingly that’s terrible planning on their part."
