'My sister is forcing bridesmaids to get face tattoos before wedding - it's absurd'

Before a wedding, there are many things that the bride will want to get organised to ensure her day goes as smoothly as possible.

There's a theme for the day that needs to be decided, the event space for the reception should be chosen, and also bridesmaid dresses are a key part of the prep.

But what would you do if you were part of the bridal party, and the bride was forcing you to get tattoos before the big day?

One bride announced that she wanted all her bridesmaids to have their eyebrows tattooed on, five months prior to the ceremony.

The bride's brother hit out at her decision, noting that his girlfriend is part of the bridal party and will be expected to get the microblading treatment done.

He took to Reddit to write: "My sister 'Megan' is getting married this summer. She had asked my girlfriend 'Rosie' to be a bridesmaid at the wedding.

"This was four months ago. Last week Megan told all the women in her wedding party they have to get something called microblading done.

"For anyone who is like me and had no idea what that is, microblading is getting eyebrows tattooed on your face. I didn't understand because Rosie and all the other bridesmaids have eyebrows.

"Megan told me the microblading is done right on top of your own eyebrows. She made appointments for herself and the wedding party in July so the tattoo will be healed for the wedding which is in December."

The man said that he and Rosie think this is a "ridiculous thing to demand of people", saying that "Megan isn't just offering it as an option" saying it's a "must for anyone in her wedding party."

"There's nothing wrong with Rosie's eyebrows", he continued. "She even tried to compromise with Megan and said she would have them dyed for the wedding if it was that important. Rosie has naturally light blonde hair and very light blonde eyebrows so dark eyebrows will look ridiculous on her but she was willing to dye hers and have them dark for a few weeks just to make Megan happy.

"This wasn't enough for Megan so Rosie dropped out of being a bridesmaid. Now Megan is furious at her and when I told Megan to back off because trying to force someone to get eyebrows tattooed is ridiculous Megan turned on me.

"She says it's none of my concern and I should not have interfered with something between her Rosie and that Rosie is being unreasonable because the microblading fades within a few years.

"I can't believe Megan thinks it's reasonable to ask this. Megan and the bridesmaids all have eyebrows and they are fine. There's nothing wrong with Rosie's or anyone else's. I was defending Rosie because I don't think Megan is being reasonable."

He then asked whether he was wrong for defending his girlfriend.

"Holy c**p, she wants her bridesmaids to alter their appearance for years and years?", someone asked. "That's completely delusional. This takes the bridezilla thing to a whole new level of entitlement. I wouldn't even attend at this point. So, not the a**hole obviously."

Another fumed: "She lost her mind when she saw her bridal party as dolls and not as humans."

A Redditor waded in: "Also as someone that has microblading and has partially trained in it, it doesn't always fade 100% My eyebrows have slight discolouration from the ink and it's been three years!"
