'My sister-in-law shamed me for wearing a swimsuit in front of my nephews'

A woman who invited her nephew and her sister-in-law around for a pool party has told how she ended up regretting the kindhearted decision

The chilled-out family day quickly turned heated after she changed into her one-piece swimsuit, which her sister-in-law wasn't happy with.

The unnamed woman says her sister-in-law lashed out , claiming that it would "tempt" her nephews and arguing that "well-endowed" women like her shouldn't wear costumes.

The woman was left horrified by the "vile" suggestion that she would want to tempt her nephews, who are said to be just six and eight years old.

The insulted aunt has explained that her sister-in-law "is not the nicest person" but enjoys the free childcare the woman is happy to provide.

Taking to Reddit, she wrote: "While the kids and I were splashing around, she wets her legs beside me and casually asks if this is 'how I dress in front of my other friends too' in a sarcastic tone.

"At that time I didn't think much just like with her other comments and just half-heartedly laughed along in agreement. She was eyeing me hard throughout the entire pool time and eventually, it got the best of me so I got off the pool.

"After I wiped myself dry she tells me well endowed (this was not the language she used but I am keeping it PG) women like myself shouldn't be wearing swimsuits like that and, it would tempt my nephews.

"F***ing disgusting! I was absolutely repulsed and shell-shocked (no joke). For those of you wondering I was wearing a one-piece not even a bikini and all my proper parts were covered. It is so vile to even think that I would want to, I quote her 'tempt' my literal underaged nephews".

The poster says she usually manages to keep her temper in check, but this time she just couldn't hold back from lashing out.

She recalled: "I made a snarky response back saying 'yeah maybe if you tried it my brother won't be calling me every other week complaining about you'.

"It was not right but how else do you respond to something so disturbing that I was 'trying to seduce' my nephews. She obviously got p****d and said other things and didn't let my nephews stay for the day".

Her brother didn't take kindly to that particular remark and rang her the following day to give her a ticking off before asking her to forgive his wife's gross accusations.

She now feels guilty about what she said, but can't help but still feel uncomfortable about how her sister-in-law's hurtful poolside comments made her feel.

Many of her fellow Reddit users have been appalled that her own sister-in-law would body shame her in this way, and were quick to reassure her that she'd done nothing wrong.

One user wrote: "Even if you were wearing a Kardashian-style teeny-tiny up ya butt bikini, your six and eight-year-old nephews would not give a toss and you still would not be seducing them".

Another said: "I hate the large-chested women are automatically sexualized. It says more about the person doing it than it does about you! You were wearing a modest outfit (but even a bikini would’ve been fine)".
