A man is livid after a cat managed to get into his home and tear up a room completely - leaving him needing to gut the entire room.
He wants to post a rant to a local Facebook group in a bid to find the feline's owner as his neighbours are not aware of who the pesky pet belongs to.
After the incident the room was left with a terrible odour and the man needed to change the flooring and throw out some non-washable items.
In the Reddit post, the man, who remained anonymous, asked if he should just suck up what happened and move on.
The man wrote: "An un-neutered cat somehow got locked into the house over the weekend and managed to hide itself in a room we hardly use.
"The outcome was a very smelly room and we have had to completely gut the room, flooring and certain non washable items as the stench was unbearable. The cat seemed well looked after and didn't seem feral so I think someone owns it."
So far, they have washed and repainted the walls and ripped up their laminate flooring all because of the smell and the insurance company will not cover it.
"Should I post a rant on the local Facebook group or just suck it up? I've asked around neighbours and they don't know who's cat it may belong to," he said.
The response was torn from those commenting as some felt he should have noticed a cat was in his house for such a long period, while others felt he should post to the Facebook group and take it further.
One person who was less sympathetic to him wrote: "There's probably an action on you to check your house security. A cat got into your house for an entire weekend, and you never knew? How big is your house?"
While another stated: "You want to rant that you (albeit unintentionally) detained someone's cat in your house for two days?"
But a third penned: "That's what local Facebook groups are actually for- unhinged ranting."
Meanwhile. another joked: "Sue the cat for damages."
